New Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping presents the Letter of Credence to ASEAN Secretary General, Dr. Surin Pitsuwan in ASEAN Secretariat on August 6th, 2012.

Dr. Surin welcomes Mme. Yang as the new Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN and pays high assessment to ASEAN-China relationship. As the first Chinese resident Ambassador to ASEAN, Mme. Yang’s arrival will strengthen the mechanized communication between ASENA and China, Dr Surin Said. He would like to work closely with Ambassador Yang and contributes to the development of ASEAN-China relationship.

Ambassador Yang said she is honored to be the first Chinese resident Ambassador to ASEAN and thanked Dr. Surin for accepting the credence letter so promptly. Ambassador Yang stressed that the setting up of Chinese Mission to ASEAN reflects China’s great importance attached to ASEAN. She and the Mission would like to serve as bridge of communication, linkage of cooperation and messenger of friendship, promoting the China-ASEAN strategic partnership to new height.
