New Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN Arrived in Jakarta

H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping,new Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN, arrived in Jakarta on 27th July, 2012. Ambassador Yang was warmly greeted by H.E. Liu Jianchao, Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, and Mr. Li Minggang, Minister Counsellor of Chinese Mission to ASEAN.

Ambassador Yang said at the airport that the setting-up of diplomatic mission to ASEAN and sending resident ambassador to Jakarta are important measures to strengthen mechanized exchanges between China and ASEAN, which reflects the importance that China attached to its relationship with ASEAN. She said that I am honored to assume the post of Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN, and will make joint efforts with friends and colleagues from all circles to promote and strengthen the strategic partnership between China and ASEAN. 


Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao announced the plan to establish Chinese Mission to ASEAN on the 14th China-ASEAN Summit which commemorated the 20th anniversary of China-ASEAN dialogue relations in November 2011. Ambassador Yang is the first Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN who will be resident in Jakarta. She also severed as Chinese Consul General in Auckland, Ambassador to Lithuanian, Ambassador to Sri Lanka and Maldives previously.
