On October 23, H.E. Wang Qing, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to ASEAN, delivered opening remarks via video at the 16th Executive Board Meeting of the China-ASEAN Interbank Association(CAIBA) and the 7th Executive Board Meeting of ASEAN Plus Three Interbank Cooperation Mechanism(APTIBCM).

Ambassador Wang stressed that over the 35 years since China and ASEAN established dialogue relations, and during the 5 years since the establishment of China–ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, fruitful results have been achieved in economic and trade cooperation, investment, finance, and other areas, vigorously promoting common development and prosperity between China and ASEAN. Nearly 30 years since the establishment of the ASEAN Plus Three cooperation mechanism, it has played a significant role in enhancing regional financial and food security and jointly addressing risks and challenges. As an important platform for financial cooperation in East Asia, the Executive Board Meetings of CAIBA and APTIBCM have made significant contributions to advancing practical cooperation, and are expected to play an even greater role in strengthening regional resilience, advancing regional economic integration, and fostering new drivers of regional growth.
The meeting was co-hosted by China Development Bank and Philippine Business Bank.
