On 9 July 2026, Ambassador Wang Qing attended the Second Meeting of the Group of the East Asia Summit (EAS) Ambassadors in Jakarta in 2026, held in Bandung, Indonesia.

Ambassador Wang outlined the positive progress China has made in the implementation of the East Asia Summit Plan of Action (2024-2028). He emphasized that as the world enters a new period of turbulence and transformation, EAS participating countries (EPCs) should remain committed to the Summit’s original purpose and mission, carry forward the Bandung Spirit, and ensure the right direction of cooperation. He stressed that EPCs should uphold the basic norms governing international relations and international rule of law and reject Cold War mentality and zero-sum games. He called upon all EPCs to strengthen solidarity, focus on cooperation, jointly maintain regional peace, enhance development resilience, and ensure the EAS truly serve as a platform for constructive dialogue and cooperation.
Ambassador Wang firmly refuted and rejected the smear and verbal attacks by certain countries against China over China’s recent missile test-launch and the illegal "South China Sea arbitration award". He expressed serious concern over the moves by relevant countries to form small cliques for confrontation and developments of "new militarism", He also expounded on China’s solemn position on the Taiwan question.
