On June 25, the awards ceremony for the 5th ASEAN-China Friendship and Cooperation Short Video Contest was held in Nanning, Guangxi. H.E. Wang Qing, Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN, joined the ceremony online and delivered a video speech.

Ambassador Wang sent his warm congratulations to the winners of the Contest and highly praised that their works showcased the fruitful cooperation between China and ASEAN in various fields as well as revealed the closeness of our historical and cultural ties. He expressed that as we celebrate the fifth anniversary of the China-ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the two sides should work together to further strengthen cultural and people-to-people exchanges, enhance mutual understanding and trust, and actively support the younger generation to join their efforts in so as to inject youthful vigor and vitality to the China-ASEAN friendship.

Themed “Hand in Hand, Heart to Heart, Together for Modernization”, the Contest was co-hosted by the Mission of the People’s Republic of China to ASEAN, the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to ASEAN, the ASEAN Secretariat, and China International Communications Group. A total of 8,774 entries were received and 39 awardees from China and ASEAN countries were selected. The videos have garnered over 40 million views across social media platforms.
