On May 13, 2026, H.E. Wang Qing, Ambassador of The People’s Republic of China to ASEAN, was invited to attend the Huawei ICT Competition Asia-Pacific Final and Award Ceremony. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN, H.E. Amb. Sarah Al Bakri Devadason, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN and Chair of the Board of Trustees of the ASEAN Foundation, Permanent Representatives of ASEAN Member States and their representatives, and senior officials from Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, and Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs of Indonesia, among other guests, attended the ceremony.

This year's Asia-Pacific regional competition, jointly organized by Huawei Asia Pacific and the ASEAN Foundation, attracted over 8,600 students from 14 countries and regions, with more than 160 students successfully advancing to the Asia-Pacific finals.
