On March 30, Ambassador Wang Qing co-chaired the 27th China-ASEAN Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting at the ASEAN Secretariat with Ambassador Sarah Al Bakri Devadason, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN, the coordinator of China-ASEAN relations.

Ambassador Wang briefed the meeting on China's 15th Five-Year Plan and the "two sessions", stressing that China has always regarded ASEAN as a priority in its neighborhood diplomacy and will inject new dynamic into China-ASEAN cooperation through high-quality development and high-level opening-up. In the face of the changes unseen in the century, China will continue to deepen partnership with ASEAN to uphold multilateralism, implement GDI, GSI, GCI and GGI, to bring about a peaceful, safe and secure, prosperous, beautiful and amicable home towards a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future, injecting the much needed stability and certainty into the region and the world at large.
The meeting discussed the progress and future development of China-ASEAN cooperation, and agreed to implement the leaders' consensus and the Plan of Action to Implement the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (2026-2030), and further deepen cooperation by taking the opportunities provided by the 5th anniversary of the China-ASESAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to bring more concrete benefits to countries and peoples in this region.
