On December 15, 2025, Mr. Fu Fengshan, Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Mission to ASEAN, delivered a video message to extend his congratulations to the official launch of the Fifth ASEAN-China Friendship and Cooperation Short Video Contest.

Mr. Fu expressed that over the past five years since the establishment of the China-ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, guided by the leaders of China and ASEAN countries, the two sides have made great strides hand in hand on the path towards modernization, continuously building consensus and deepening cooperation. The year 2026 will kick off China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and the ASEAN Community Vision 2045. The Short Video Contest is anticipated to play a more important role on our journey towards building a peaceful, safe and secure, prosperous, beautiful, and amicable home and a closer community with a shared future.

The Contest, under the theme of “Hand in Hand, Heart to Heart, Together for Modernization”, is co-hosted by the Chinese Mission to ASEAN, the ASEAN Secretariat, the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to ASEAN, the China International Communications Group, among others. H.E. San Lwin, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN, and H.E. Sarah Al Bakri Devadason, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN, delivered their video messages at the launch ceremony as well.
