The Chinese Mission to ASEAN, in collaboration with China Daily Asia Pacific, successfully held the ASEAN Media Capacity Building Workshop in Hong Kong SAR from July 14-19, 2025. Twenty media professionals and influencers from ASEAN member states and Timor-Leste participated in the event.

The workshop focused on the transformation of new media and AI applications, providing training to enhance professional competencies. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions with representatives from media institutions, including China Daily, Phoenix TV, South China Morning Post, Xiaohongshu, etc, and visited the Legislative Council of Hong Kong SAR and Hong Kong Cyberport, as well as BYD, Nanshan Energy Ecological Park, and UBTech Robotics in Shenzhen. The extraordinary achievements made by Hong Kong under the "one country, two systems" and the integrated development and thriving prosperity of the Greater Bay Area have left the participants deep impressions, and they looked forward to playing an active role in strengthening people-to-people exchanges between China and ASEAN and promoting amity and mutual understanding among the people.
