On November 1, 2024, President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages with President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The political mutual trust between the two countries has been strengthened continuously, development strategies have been further synergized, and practical cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful results. The two sides have enjoyed close people-to-people and cultural exchanges and maintained effective communication and coordination in regional and international affairs. During President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's state visit to China in May this year, Xi Jinping and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reached important common understandings, charting the course for the development of China-UAE relations in the next stage. Xi Jinping said, he attaches great importance to the development of China-UAE relations and is ready to work together with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to take the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as a new starting point to push the China-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level, and make greater contributions to promoting peace and stability in the region and the world while bringing more benefits to the two peoples.

Li Qiang stated that China is ready to work hand in hand with the UAE to take the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to follow through on the important common understandings reached between President Xi Jinping and President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and continuously enrich the China-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership.
