Myanmar attaches great importance to its relations with China, is committed to developing bilateral friendship, firmly adheres to the one-China principle and is ready to remain forever a friendly neighbor that China can trust. Myanmar looks forward to advancing Belt and Road cooperation with China and strengthening cooperation in economy, trade, infrastructure, agriculture, energy and other fields to benefit the two peoples. Min Aung Hlaing congratulated the Chinese athletes on their excellent performance at the Olympic Games Paris 2024. Noting that next year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Myanmar and China, he said, the two sides may jointly hold celebrations to carry forward the traditional friendship and push for greater development of bilateral relations. Min Aung Hlain thanked China for its constructive role in promoting peace talks in northern Myanmar and expressed the hope that China will continue to support Myanmar in maintaining domestic stability and achieving political reconciliation. Myanmar is also willing to continue to cooperate with China to jointly crack down on cross-border crimes such as online gambling and telecom fraud, and will never allow any act that undermines China's security and interests.

Wang Yi said that China and Myanmar are linked by mountains and rivers, and enjoy a deep "pauk-phaw" friendship. Seventy years ago, leaders of the elder generation of the two countries jointly initiated the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, which have been widely recognized by the international community and become basic norms governing international relations as well as fundamental principles of international law. China-Myanmar friendship has withstood the test of history and the evolving international landscape, maintained the momentum of steady development, and set the goal of building a China-Myanmar community with a shared future. China's friendly policy towards Myanmar is for all the people of Myanmar. China upholds the principle of non-interference in internal affairs, and respects Myanmar's political tradition and the development path chosen by Myanmar in light of its national conditions. China appreciates Myanmar's adherence to the one-China principle and firm support for China on issues concerning China's core interests.

Wang Yi pointed out that China firmly supports Myanmar in safeguarding its independence, sovereignty, national unity and territorial integrity, committing itself to domestic peace and stability and economic development, and advancing the new Five-Point Road Map within the constitutional framework to realize political reconciliation and resume the process of democratic transition at an early date, so as to find a path to long-term peace and stability. As a friendly neighbor, China opposes chaos and conflicts in Myanmar, interference in Myanmar's internal affairs by outside forces, and any words and deeds that attempt to drive a wedge between China and Myanmar and smear China.

Wang Yi said, China's efforts in further deepening reform comprehensively and promoting Chinese modernization will bring new development opportunities to the world, especially its neighbors. China is ready to deepen cooperation with Myanmar in various fields, accelerate the implementation of major projects under the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor, properly operate the China-Myanmar oil and gas pipeline project, help Myanmar improve people's livelihood, and push for more tangible results in the building of the China-Myanmar community with a shared future. Wang Yi expressed his hope that Myanmar will earnestly safeguard the safety of Chinese personnel and projects in Myanmar, maintain peace and stability along the China-Myanmar border, step up joint efforts to crack down on cross-border crimes and create a safe environment for bilateral exchanges and cooperation.

During his visit to Myanmar, Wang Yi held talks with Myanmar's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister U Than Swe and met with former Chairman of Myanmar's State Peace and Development Council Than Shwe.
